Mr. Trementozzi represents clients of all classes, developing strategies aligned with business objectives to protect and leverage their intellectual property. His experience includes advising clients concerning the acquisition of rights and the preparation of patentability, infringement (including design around), validity, and freedom-to-operate opinions. Mr. Trementozzi has prepared and prosecuted patent applications with the USPTO, and in foreign jurisdictions in areas such as semiconductors, MEMS, digital and analog circuit designs, complex digital signal processing algorithms, computers, security, software, electro-mechanical designs, optics/fiberoptics, materials, geophysics, medical devices, wireless, cellular and landline telephony, RF tuning and filtering, and other high technology applications
Prior to joining The Guntin & Gust PC, Mr. Trementozzi was a partner at Pierce Atwood and prior to that a senior counsel at Foley & Lardner LLP, one of the largest law firms in the country. While at Foley, Mr. Trementozzi drafted and prosecuted patents in printer, cell processing, neuroscience, and drug delivery device areas. He also developed and implemented IP strategies for a number of start-up companies, including patent portfolio development, freedom to operate analysis and litigation support. Mr. Trementozzi also performed IP due diligence and valuation activities in support of a variety of transactions on both the buy and sell side.
Prior Professional Experience
Before practicing law, Mr. Trementozzi garnered substantial industrial experience (nearly 15 years) as a Senior Hardware Design Engineer at Raytheon, a Member of the Technical Staff at MITRE and an RF Engineer at SAIC, participating in the design, test and evaluation of complex electronic systems including radars, satellite communication systems, radios, avionics, aerospace and computers. Having a “hands-on” background provides Mr. Trementozzi with an edge in quickly grasping his clients’ technical challenges, innovative solutions, and business strategies.

Mr. Trementozzi is active in the Boston area’s vibrant start-up community, he has been invited to serve as an inaugural member of the Suffolk Law Intellectual Property Advisory Board. He has also served as a coach to Suffolk Law School teams for the Giles Sutherland Rich Memorial Moot Court Competition 2008-present, judged the Competition for Innovative Ideas at the Sawyer Business School of Suffolk University 2009, 2010, and mentored Boston high school students competing in the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship national business plan competition.
