Mr. Hrutka received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 2001, he received a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.
Mr. Hrutka is a member of the Maryland Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar Association and is admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, as well as being registered as a patent attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Before attending law school, Mr. Hrutka worked as an engineer for a Boston, Massachusetts research and development firm that specialized in metal matrix composites intended for use in aircraft.
Mr. Hrutka is also active in his community. He currently provides pro bono legal services through the Veterans Pro Bono Consortium. He is also an adjunct professor, teaching various legal topics.
